Every Federal politician needs to read this survey

The Senate was slated to vote on the Government’s sweeping changes to social security law on 23 June but together we flooded Senators’ offices across the country with calls and the bill has been delayed until after Parliament’s winter break.

The delayed ‘Streamlined activity requirements’ Bill proposes changes that could expand automated suspensions of JobSeeker payments for people who are late sending in their job searches and force unemployed people to negotiate compliance requirements with a computer before they get their first payment.

By delaying the bill, we’ve bought ourselves more time to call our Senators and ensure this bill doesn’t become the next robodebt. Call your Senators and ask them to block this Bill!
